Todays ramblings
Good Morning.
Over the years I have used the Racing Post naps table
quite a bit to try out systems and after reading an article in the Novembers
Betting
School, it gave me and Idea that I thought we could play around
with.
Just in case you don't know the naps table can be found by
clicking on the "Racing" tab and selecting "Tipsters" and then "Naps", you will
then be presented with a list of naps from the major publications around the
country.
Depending when you look at it you will probably see nearly 70%
of the tipsters showing a loss.
The mistake you can make when you first
see this table is to think that you only have to back all the selections from
the top tipster and you will make money. Unfortunately this table can be very
fluid and a top tipster can fall from grace very quickly. It is not unusual for
these tipsters to have 10 or more losers in a row.
Again you may think
that why not just pick one and lay all their selections? Well you have to pick
the right one but you just may have picked the tipster that suddenly does well,
so it is no easy task.
I want to take it from another angle...
I have come up with this idea for a lay system based on
the selections from table. Now I am not sure how it will perform but I
think we may be surprised how well we actually do. I have put a cap on the
maximum odds we will take in the morning is 2.5.

Please remember this
is a test and that I have no intention of using real money yet, but we will
base the results on a £10 lay bet and at the price I record in the
morning. I suspect the price on many of these selections may shorten and I will
try to keep and eye on them.

If you're a flat bettor then it all weather for the next
few months. I know a lot of people don't get on with the all weather because of
the quality of some of the horses and the transferring of form between venues.
But then for others who understand it's a goldmine.
The first rule is
to not try and transfer Southwell form to or from the other tracks, the surface
is just not the same.
But leaving out Southwell you have three courses
where the form works out and a relatively small pool of runners.
One
of the best ways to find sand winners is to follow horses that ran close in
fast races IE races that were run at better than the standard time for the
course. If you follow horses like this you will hit a lot of winners.
