Yesterdays Results (Friday)

Todays ramblings
Good Morning.
Not a good day for favourites at Cheltenham yesterday meaning it was a
good day for bookies and layers!
I am not sure about today looks like being a mixed bag.
Been a difficult morning finding my own selections, with Hexham abandoned
not much at Southell and only two selections at Cheltenham, it doesn't
leave a lot to go on.
I have a very varied betting portfolio (sounds good) now days and I
was looking on Raj Patels site last night and I noticed that his trading
is just as diverse.

There are so many different markets open to us and lots of different
ways to bet including lay, back, trade and even arbing that we are a
little spoilt for choice.
This is where you have to be careful and disiplined is needed otherwise
you can end up spreading your bank thinly all over the place.
I usually have set percentage of my bank I want to win a day, I then look
at all the possible bet's, lay or trades I could have and then decide
how to proceed.
If I have a couple of good selections on my lay betting system that are
scoring high then I will probably use them as the basis for my days betting.
On days like today where they are low scorers they will be a secondary
consideration why I look at my other options.
This is where you have to be careful, I could name at least 10 to 20 other
scenario's where I could make money, some not very risky others very
very risky but in an effort to make my target I could use any number of
these, but most of them I rejected after testing, so I am left with a
few that I am prepared to risk some of my bank on.
I think Raj shows the same thing, he has come up with several scenarios
that he knows over time will show a profit, it doesn't mean he will be
up everyday, but most days he will.

I think in this game we suffer a lot from looking at the picture over the
short term, when the real way to make money is looking long term.
If you want to make 5% of your bank daily then for certain you will have
days where you lose that much, but then you will have opportunties to
make even more, so over time "can you level out at 5% with the selections
you are using?", that what you have to ask yourself.
