Todays ramblings
Good Morning.
I think I am going to work all weekend, I
have a lot of things on the go so I may just shut myself away and get on with
it.
Yet another winner for "Millionaires's Row" yesterday.
Admittedly the prices were not as good as the last couple of day's but still
around 2 points profit.
There are 4 meetings today 3 Jumps from
Ascot,
Exeter,
Kelso and 1 AW from
Wolverhampton.
The last couple of weeks we have been trying to find
value in betting on the exchange place market. If you want to pick up this

Yesterday I wrote this.
" Take
the "Racing Post - win selections" we have been trying for the last
couple of months. I thought with close to a 50% (sometimes anyway) strike rate
it seemed to be doing ok but yesterday I put together all the selections which
you can see

I haven't added up the points yet but judging by the prices, I bet you
had a better chance at making money at level stakes if you lay, instead of
backing and with the low prices a
lay staking system
wouldn't be that dangerous."
I had an email from a reader who did some
work on the results:
"
By backing and laying the racing post
selections on the results you posted (I assumed the lay odds to be 5% higher
that than the back odds).
If you use a staking plan of doubling your
previous stake after a loss you'd be 15 points up. I would never use such a
plan in practice as a 50% strike rate can easily result in runs of 6 or more
wins or losses in a row. If you double 3 times before going back to your
original stake then you'd be 7.5 points up. (Someone may say you cant possibly
win by backing and laying the same horse, but of course you are using different
stakes each time) "
His idea is similar to the
Balay system
but this is with much shorter odds which is why as Howard say's you could end
up with long losing streaks weather you back or lay.

8. Greyhound Selections- Lay System
started 07/11/2006.
After playing around with selections I have
decided that for the time being this is going to be a lay only test. I think I
have worked out a system that will give us quite good prices but I suspect
there will have to be a maximum lay price set. I am just not sure what that
will be but I am testing between 2.00 and 7.00. I will make every effort to
record betfair lay prices as well. The ones marked with an asterisks (*) are
from the original and tighter system.

I will admit I bottled out a little
yesterday and changed the odds to 2.00 to 6.00. The intension was to run the
staking plan on the bot, but we had some trouble with this so I just ended up
with level stakes and as you can see from this
screenshot, I missed a few selections (bar one where I did
catch a 7.00 while testing a manual setup). I am also considering not laying
the older selections (*) because these seem to be the ones we are having the
most trouble with.

- 6. This is where I can lose a lot of money during testing, but it means you
don't have to if you ever come to use the bot!
