Todays ramblings
Good Morning.
Now that I have just about fully recovered I think
it is back to decorating for me this weekend.
It was a good start to our
Millionaire Double Take yesterday with both selections winning. We have
discussed having a limit on the highest odds to go to on the lay side, but I
don't want to do that just yet, although I would be worried about going above
10/1 but I suspect because we are always taking the second best price horse for
the lay, it is unlikely to be that high anyway.
It's early days so lets
see how it goes. Don't forget there is a link in the Millionaire section(9)
where you can sign up to have the selections emailed to you daily, including
Saturdays.
Not such a good day on the Greyhounds selections (8)
yesterday with 3 losers in a row. It's been a bit of a rough week on these
selections but we are still showing an 80% strike rate.

Please note that I
used the staking plan with the place selections and was back into winning ways
on the 3rd race.
At the moment the place system is still
behaving.
I should be putting the new beta version of the Grey Horse bot
in the forum for all those who like to look at pre releases.
The new bot
has a trading feature which I think is pretty cool but I am not sure how it
will be received because of the way we have set it up.
Normally with
trading people talk about "tick" values and "price" movement. Well we decided
to base our trades on monetary values instead.
This means that instead
of telling the bot to trade if the price moves one way or the other, we say if
I can make "x" amount then trade.
So for instance I could lay a horse at
3.5 with a stake of £5.00. I can then tell the bot to trade if the price
moves enough to show all "green" at 50p or at £1.00. "Green" means it
doesn't matter whether the horse wins or loses we still win an equal
amount.
Anyway I will explain this a little more next week and show some
examples.
We have also added a feature to the bot where it will
automatically load in a session.xml.
I keep the greyhound session.xml on
the laybetting server so you can set the bot up in the morning and then leave
it, the bot will keep checking the server until it finds the session.xml and
then automatically load all the information into the bot.
Just a little
more automation.

Sorry no tips from Thomas for a couple of days.
The concept is to always place 1 point to WIN and 2 points to PLACE on the
same horse. So, there is a risk of always 3 points if the horse does not place
at least.
Thomas is recording all Betfair prices 30 sec before the
off.

8. Greyhound Selections- Lay
System started 07/11/2006.
After playing around with selections I
have decided that for the time being this is going to be a lay only test. I
think I have worked out a system that will give us quite good prices but I
suspect there will have to be a maximum lay price set. I am just not sure what
that will be but I am testing between 2.00 and 7.00. I will make every effort
to record betfair lay prices as well. The ones marked with an asterisks
(*) are from the original and tighter system, I am not using these
now.
You can see all the results since the 14th (when I introduced
the latest selection method)
here. I am now using what I call the "rule of 3", this means
we go for 3 wins and use a 3 race scratch back to get back any losses.
