The thing is that if you had have purchased the system from a normal "system seller" you would have only got the selection process, without any explanation, of how they came up with the idea in the first place.

So although you know what to select you have no idea why you are using the selections process apart from probably some pointers about statistics.

I have been trying to get you to start thinking about creating your own systems because these are the ones that are going to suit you.

Lastly today.

I had a phone call from a guy called Ant yesterday who was explaining to me about a lay system he had been testing for quite a while. Now as you can guess I get a lot of emails and calls about systems but what interested me about Ant was the method he was using to select the runners.

I tend to be a little careful about showing selections in this newsletter but I thought it was having a look at Ant's daily selection to see how they go.

He mentioned he only has two rules. The first is the one I use as well which is the 10% reduction rule.

Both are a little high at the moment at around 2.88 I will see if they come down to nearer 2.5 later in the day.

I would be able to make quite a bit of money today!

It was really interesting to see the range of prices offered and I really appreciate your honesty on this.

Now what I am about to say may offend some people but it really isn't my intention. I want to make a point and yesterday proved that I am correct in my assumptions.

From all the e-mails I got only a few questioned or commented on the actual results, many of you just looked at the "bottom line" and presumed an easy way to make money and what is worse, a few people seemed were very serious about paying me an awful lot of money.

Ok I know some of you were kidding and probably wouldn't hand me £200 based on the results chart but I can tell you from watching other "system sellers" in this industry that it does happen and far to frequently.

I didn't lie about the results they were actually from a back tested system and confirmed on Porform as well but I have hardly tested them at all live, although I am watching them . There was a selection yesterday and it came in within the price range but lost.

Anyway here is one email that was sent to me yesterday...

"Firstly, to answer your question, No, I would not be interested in the system. The reasons are are follows."

MAL - The sender wants to remain anonymous but he makes some valid points.

"(1) From 1st Jan 2007 to end of May 2007, it didn't make any money. Neither did it make any money from mid-July last year until mid-July this year. Putting effort into this system for a whole year without return does not represent good value to me, and would certainly have put me off using the system. Consequently, it would also have put me off buying any further systems from you. "

MAL - Now how many of you saw that?

If you had purchased this system you would have given up after a couple of months.

"(2) I only use betting exchanges and I notice you haven't deducted any commission from the results, so the profit quoted would be less impressive. And of course, during the periods mentioned above, the system would have made a loss."



MAL - I did argue this wasn't really a valid point as you could get the prices from the bookies and watching the prices on Betfair they tend to be higher than the 5% commission you would have to pay.

"(3) Its not clear whether the selections/results have been proofed in live racing, or generated from historical data. The majority of system developers fall into the trap of creating systems based on historical data, and assume its success will carry on likewise into the future. "

MAL - Very good point and I have already mentioned that this is exactly what I did, although unlike many "System Developers" I did use two sources to confirm the data.

"(4) Most systems use the Racingpost website, which is now an additional expense that cuts into potential profits. So if this system used RP, I wouldn't be interested. Sorry for the negative reply. I do recognise though that the bank grew by about 3000% between May'07 and May'08, but that may have been the period for which the rules of the system were tuned for maximum return. Really I prefer to see more consistent return over time. "

MAL - The system can use any source although I have only had to pay RP £7.50 a month for the information I need for most of my systems.

Anyway thanks for the email and I appreciate the feedback and honesty.

So I wonder how much you think the system is worth now?

I always find it a very good idea to look at selections from different angles and see if there are other way’s, in which we could make a profit.

Since we first started using the stop at a winner system at selections4profit I have had a feeling, that we could make a profit on the best priced runners but it was just about finding a plan that worked.

Because the system has worked very well as a stop at a winner I had no real reason for looking at it anyway, but January changed that a little because it was not our greatest month.  I decided to see if we could make money from the best priced selections.

Here are level stake results.

Part of the problem with the favourites is that they are often quite short priced, so running a staking plan will not always guarantee that you will be back in profit after a win, which means you could end up fighting a losing battle.

Now before I go on I must stress that we are going to talk about increasing our stake and as such, this can be dangerous and expensive if it goes wrong. I am obviously giving you this document for information only and how you act on it is up to you, but there are no guarantees anything in here will work or make you money.

The idea for the staking plan is similar to the one we use with the stop at a winner selections but I have changed it slightly to help compensate for large losses.

The original idea goes like this.

“After a loss increase your next stake by your original stake until a win and then revert back you your normal stake.”

So if you are staking £10 this is how it would look after a few losers.

Loser 1 -£10

Loser 2 -£20

Loser 3 -£30

And then if we get a winner we revert back to our normal £10 stake.

In real life it looks like this.

As you can see we lost on the 1^st and 2^nd and won on the 3^rd but you can also see even though we increased our stake, we ended up still down from our original bank of £100. Admittedly after a win on the next selection we were back into profit and this works well with enough winners.

The problem with January was that out of 35 selections we had 18 losers and only 17 winners, so at the end of the month it looked like this.

Our £100 start bank was down to just £34.80 using the above staking plan.

So I decide to be a little bolder and change the staking plan to…

“After a loss increase your next stake by your original stake until a win and then keep the stake the same, until you recoup your losses. If you encounter another loser then increase again.”

This looks like this…

As you can see this seems to work quite well especially with a win of 5/2 on the second winner in a row but let us not get too excited because later on in the month, this happens…

Yes this got a little expensive but interestingly enough it finished the month like this.

Great rewards but a lot of risk as well, you would certainly need to have nerves of steel to carry this idea through.

So we have idea 1 which is low on the aggressive scale and because of that there was no profit in January, where as idea 2 was very aggressive and although the return was great the losses were as well, so what we really need is something in between.

So I came up with this…

“After a loss increase your next stake by your original stake until a win and then decrease your stake by your original stake until you are back at your original stake. If at anytime during increased staking you have fully recovered your losses then return to your normal stake. ”

Let us see how it looks on the results sheet.

We lost on the first two, so as usual our staking is increasing by 10. We win on the 3^rd runner so on the next selection we drop our stake down by another 10.

As with idea 2 this is more aggressive that idea 1 and so with a month like January it will test your bank and here is what happened.

As you can see we still ended up in a negative situation half way in to the month but again this is nowhere near as bad as what happened with staking idea 2.

So how did we end up?

Again it was a little bit of a roller coaster ride but we still managed to make good profit in a difficult month.

But again I must stress there were a lot of losses involved to get there and you will still need good nerves, in order to stick it out and make profit.

I hope this exercise has given you something to think about but I would like to leave you with one final thought.

Although following the favourites only would have seen you lose £46 at £10 level stakes in January. In February so far (23/02/09) at £10 level stakes you would be around £115 up!

I am not sure how February would look using one of the above staking plans maybe I will work that out in a few days.

It goes to show that if you stick with some services it will pay dividends in the long run, as I always say you just need patience.

Sorry this is a short rambles today but I have an early appointment.

Unfortunately in December they had a bit of a bad month and actually ended up 15pts down on the month, but before then and since it has been easy to achieve the 5pts I recommended but probably not the 12pts they do unless you include the lay bets as well, in that case this would be very easy.

The reason I mention the service again is that I wonder how many people considered a stop loss for each month?

We always talk about a stop loss for systems or daily betting but I think you should also consider it for a service as well. A 10pts stop loss with LayBackRacing would have been appropriate, in fact looking at their monthly results a 5pts stop loss would probably have saved you from a situation, where it could take a few months to make up your losses.

I think what has happened with LayBackRacing makes a good lesson in money management but what is more likely is that they lost a number of members, who were not ready to take a loss and so will not benefit from the good times either. I have said many times that every system or service will have a bad spell at some time, you just have to be ready for it, except it and act accordingly.

I still think LayBackRacing will show a good profit but you just have to remember that you have to be ready to lose and to try to protect yourself the best you can.

We also know from past experience that sometimes when we role out a new service then it can have a bad time and although we do not expect this to happen with stop at a winner, we are aware that it can happen.

At the same time the actual selection process that we use is quite complex and is taken David quite sometime to do it in the morning and although he doesn't mind, it is a little unfair to expect him to give out winning bets all the time without getting paid for the advice.

Anyway after a couple of conversations this is what we decided to do...

From next week we will offer you to join the service if you are interested for just £10 for the first 30days. So if you take it that you get about 26 days of selections in that period, then it is about 38p a day. I think doing it this way helps in two ways.

Firstly if you really do think these selections suit your style of betting then paying a little money for them will make you concentrate on them and really decide if they work for you.

Secondly it allows me to give David some money for taking the time to do the selections.

The goal in the first month should be for you to find out if you can make enough money from the selections to make more that the regular subscription fee which will be set at £29.99 a month. So you will want to make more than £1 a day!

I think this is a fare way of introducing the paid service.

Although I don't see a reason for limiting membership because as these are back bets then you can place your bets in all sorts of places, I still think restrictive membership allows us to give a more personal service so we will be keeping an eye on the numbers.

The service will include both Stop at a winner and DYC and I will let everyone who is on the tips list, know when we are ready to go live.

That means of course when we go live the selections will not be available in this email any longer so I would get on the list if you want to be kept informed of what we are doing.

Sorry for the confusion over this but it was just the pair of us not getting our act together. Anyway from now I will show both selections in this news letter.

Talking about David's double your chance have you been watching how well it is performing?

When we first ran it in this news letter it had a couple of losers but apart from that the lay is certainly doing well and there are some winners on the favourite as well. Here are the results.

My only concern with DYC is that the lay prices often make the selections prohibitive.

There was one other thing I wanted to mention regarding the "Stop at a winner" selections and again this is a little bit of communication problem between David and I and I only realised what he had been doing yesterday. The selection procedure is quite long for these and we take every runner in our chosen races and then use a multitude of form readings to get our two selections. This means that we don't necessarily get the favourite selections first and then the second selection, so sometimes the selections can be listed the wrong way around.

Now again this is a bit of a misunderstanding between David and me because when I check his results I see them in the correct order but as with yesterday they were in the wrong order.

So please can we make this clear now. We take the best price and that is always the left selection in the results and the second best selection is always the right selection in the results and so if you are betting on the second favourite only, you must take the worst price and not the right hand selection as shown in the email.



I hope this hasn't caused any problems for anyone.

We covered a possible staking plan yesterday for "Stop at a winner" and going by yesterdays results it could have been a stretch but using that particular staking plan and a low percentage of your bank you should be able to go quite a few losers.

The staking is based around 50pts so if we say we have a bank of £200 we could look at using say 5% of the bank. Before I get lot's of emails, I know that I normally recommend 1% of your bank but this is normally because I recommending lay bets and a more aggressive staking plan, although you should always look at betting the smallest amount that makes you happy.

So 5% of a £200 bank is £10 and £10 divided by 50pts is 20p a point so going back to Davids suggestion on stakes it would like this.

Favourite 1-5 or worse: £10 on the favourite only

Favourite 2-7 or worse: 9.00/1.00

Favourite 1-2 or worse: 8.00/2.00

Favourite odds-on 1-2 or better: 7.00/3.00

Both Selections 6-4 or better: 5.00/5.00

All other prices: 6.00/4.00

I must admit I am still not entirely convinced you would even need to use a staking plan on "Stop at a Winner" any more than you would using all the selections. I think the split you choose could be important and should certainly be managed.

David has been looking at the results and this is what he sent me.



"I Have check my results using the Dutching System for staking and found that due to the variety of prices, and how short some of them become because of non-runners etc, this does not seem to work very well. When the first selection is a very short price then you always seem to end up with a losing bet. I have therefore devise my own staking plan which appears a much better return and very few losing bets.



Firstly this system is 'Stop at a Winner' so that is exactly what we do. We do not chase loses. The only thing I do is, after a losing bet I increase my next bet by my original bet each time, but as soon as I get a winner I stop.



STAKING PLAN using stakes of 50pts per race.

(50pts can be anything. If you choose £1 per point then it is £50 but if you decide that you can only afford 50p a point then it is £25 and a 35/15 split would be £17.50/£7.50)



Favourite 1-5 or worse: 50 on the favourite only

Favourite 2-7 or worse: 45/5

Favourite 1-2 or worse: 40/10

Favourite odds-on 1-2 or better: 35/15

Both Selections 6-4 or better: 25/25

All other prices: 30/20"



The problem of course with giving a guide like this is that we are likely to get variations in the results, depending on when you make your bet. But I think the point is that David thinks, that this is a better way of staking and although we may get different stake sizes, it is what happens to the individual that is important.

The other thing David has mention is staking. He increases his losses by his original bet when he has a loser.

The watch word here is "original" and it looks like this.

35/15

70/30

105/45

You may have to consider adjusting the staking slightly depending on the odds but remember this is not the same as increasing your stake by all your loses. Here you are simply using your original stake and adding that to your next stake. As with all staking you have to be careful, but this is a little less dangerous than the ones normally associated with "Stop at a Winner" type systems.

You may also have to consider swapping the staking around because as you can see in today's selections, the favourite is now the 2nd selection in two of the races.

I decided to play around with the "Double your Chance" spread sheet yesterday so we could at least get a better idea about how the selections are doing. Now I am pretty sure everything is as it should be.

As you can see now I have made the calculation more automated. The profit on the second runner only, is not quite as high as I worked out (roughly) last week but it is still a respectable 492 pts which would be very nice in anyones book.

What surprised me more was that the system made profit on the favourites as well with just over 21 pts, which I think is quite respectable for such low odds. So looking at the two together you could easily put a point on each and get quite a good return if the results continue.

I also took out all the selections we had before I started showing you, which is is everything before the 1st of December 2008. We showed a loss of 3.30 pts on the best priced runner but a profit of 104.21 pts on the second selection. So that's 100pts profit since I have been showing them to you at level stakes.

Just to round things off if you look at the selections from the the 2nd to the 10th of January then profit on the best priced selection would have been 4.15 pts and on the second 5.04, although yesterday was a little bad, so that would have taken these down a bit. But we are still in profit at a time when there are difficult racing conditions.

"Stop at a winner" is also showing quite good results although the profit is on the second selections. I have only worked out the profit at level stakes on both at the moment because I need to write in the dutching calculations. Anyway the second selection is showing 263.32 pts but the first is showing a loss of 1.50pts.

I would still say this is a healthy profit but not as good as level staking all the selections but I would still like to see how it works with the dutching calculations.

Whichever way you look at it there certainly seems to be profit here so the next thing to look at is if we can improve the return by using a staking plan.

Now when I mention staking plans I get different responses but one of the ones that always comes my way is.."You can not make an unprofitable system profitable by introducing a staking plan.". Although I don't completely agree with this statement, I do understand the sentiment and for safety reasons you should acknowledge you understand it to.

Anyway in this case we are showing a level stakes profit so we should be able to come up with someway of improving our return. I am not sure we need to look at the second runner although that could be really interesting but I would have thought we should concentrate on the favourite.

Sorry this is a quick rambles this morning. I have one of those morning meetings across town.

"The old lessons are still the best!



Every now and then I am reminded of some key principles that universally apply to anybody that wants to make profit from betting.



I have just been reviewing my results from a system I have been following for the last couple of months. The system has done really well and now that I look back through the results and think about why it works I can see that it is obvious that it would be profitable.



The principle that applies in this case has been the subject of many books and articles over the years that I have been involved with betting and that is that the successful bettor goes against the crowd.



In this instance the system I'm looking at advocates that we lay favourites when they look like good things to win! The idea being that if a horse is the obvious favourite and looks certain to win then it will be over bet. IE it will start at odds that don't reflect its true chance.



For example if a horse has a 50/50 chance of winning the race then it should be even money (2.0) but if it looks like a good thing and has lots going for it then more than likely it will be trading at 1.8 or shorter. This horse is therefore a value lay and if you lay horses like this over the long term you will win.



The system I'm looking at is Dodgy Favourites by Paul Fowlie (http://www.horseracingsystemsuk.com/go_dodgy_favourites.htm) and it is going great guns. But if you can't afford to splash out on an expensive system in these tough times then just pay attention to the key principle, obvious horses are over bet and make value lays.

As many of you know I get Darren's betting school guide every month, which apart from some very interesting articles he also test many systems. In the December issue Dodgy Favourites had been tested from October the 16th to December the 1st (the test will be continued) there were 58 selections and 47 of them were successful lay's with a profit after commission of around 27pts at Betfair's SP, a little less if you had used lunchtime prices.

I haven't tried this method myself yet in fact I haven't even purchased the report, but I do trust Darren's review of it in the Betting School report and he "recommends" it.

I have decided that this year I am going to have quite a long break from doing this daily email. Friday the 19th will be the last time you here from me before Xmas and I will resume Tuesday the 6th January 2009.

We had another 1 winning dutch bet yesterday with "Double your chances". We also had another higher price winner at 14/1, that makes 26pts (if you would have got SP) over 4 if you backed the second favourite.

I ran GHB on Betdaq yesterday but didn't get a match but the reason why was I was using small stakes...

You can see by the log file above that the bet failed because Double Hit was high at 15.50 and the value of my bet was 0.47p which is under Betdaq's minimum. It's a shame that would have been a nice little win!

I will re adjust my stakes today just in case.

By the way just because I am experimenting with small stakes it doesn't mean you should. This is still a test and I have a bank especially for it.

I am going over the results we have and seeing if backing just the second favourite looks viable but even if it is, it will be a long term method of making money.

The other thing we are going to have to consider with these tips is backing the favourite only. My worry here is that they can be fairly short priced so if you have to go 6 races without a win it will take a lot of winners to get that back. Using a staking plan is a possibility but again 6 losers in a row could be costly.

I am still drawn towards the dutching "stop at a winner". I think this will prove to be the best method.

Yesterday we had another 3 winners but the one I want you to make a note of is Hillview Boy who came in1st at 8/1. What I want to do is find out when we get the next high priced winner. I have a feeling we could actually make a level stakes profit on these but it is a little early to tell. I certainly think we could do something on the favourites alone but again we need to wait and see.

By the way David back selected Saturday's selection we missed using the papers which we always keep. As I have mentioned before this way we can get accurate selections.

What I want to show you as well is when one of the higher priced second selections come in. The favourite does win more often but sometimes you can get some big winners on the second selection as well. I wonder if there may be some milage in running several different betting methods on these selections?

I had an email from a reader yesterday about the Australian markets and how Betfair are intending to open more markets to in-running in the new year. At the moment only some of the bigger Australian races have in-running. He also told me that Betfair have done a sponsorship deal with Sandown Race course in Melbourne. The course has been renamed to Betfair Park!

I have been looking at this system over the last few months. It is sort of an idea that came about after some test we had been running on GHB, while testing the "dutching" function.

Now I know most of you will know what dutching means but just in case you are very new, there is an article on my main site you can read.

It should give you a good idea what it is all about.

But I will carry on anyway....

I am going to try and work in the garden this weekend. We have had a few ideas to make it look a little better for next year and give the dogs a little more room to play in. You should see what a garden looks like after having 5 dogs running around on it. Let's just say there isn't much grass left!

A couple of weeks back I mentioned that I had been working on a system for betting in running. Well I decided to try a few experiments that in the end didn't work out, so I went back to my original plan and algorithm, which seems to work quite well.

The thing is with this system is, that the maximum you are ever going able to bet is 1% (0.5%, would be better) of your bank. The odds tend to be low and the maximum losing run I have had so far is a bout 7, but you know as well as I do that this could change. But the system is fully automated through my in2logic bot, which means I just click start and let it get on with it. Anyway I want to run it for a little while longer and then I will let you know more about what I am doing.

I have also been experimenting with football matches and I think I may have come up with something that works quite well, but again it is all about testing, but the good thing about football if you lay a team then they have to win the match for you to lose, so a draw or a lose is a win for a lay bet.

I probably wouldn't lay Chelsea or one of the top 2 or 3 teams (although the odds make it very inviting) but the middle teams are certainly worth looking at. Although again I will say I know nothing about Football, but there are a lot of sites out there that do!

This is short rambles from me this morning, I have a meeting to get to.

We have had 3 losers in a row on my Lay Betting System. It was posted in the forum that it has been a long time since we saw that happen and I can only think of one other occasion when it has, but if we put it in context to what we have been talking about this week, then we should have been ready for it.

Before we go on this morning I think we have to accept that after 2 losers this week "Double your chance" is not looking very good at all. David is looking to see if we can learn anything from them but I am not sure you can do much considering the lay prices can be so high.

So carrying on from yesterday....

And our Observations...

1. All selections are 2 (evens) or above.

3. Longest winning run is 6

Where does that leave us.

Well I don't fancy the idea of using a staking plan when you may have to go through 9 or 10 losers in a row, it is possible, but can get expensive, so I would go for level stakes betting and stop at 5pts. Now we have to accept that we could have to go through at least 9 or 10 losers, before we get to 5 pts so we have to be ready for that.

So the maximum I would use would be 5% of my bank as a stake, this would give would mean you could go 20 losers before losing the all of it.

If you have a bank of say £200 and you use 5% to back at level stakes of £10 then you should be able to make £50 in your first month. The second month you will have £250 so now you use 5% again and you are now betting £12.50 so you should be able to make £62.50. Just carry on doing that and you could have a substantial bank by the end of the year if things carry on the way they have been going.

Once you have decided on your bank and stake, the next thing you want to do is to see if you can get the same odds that Graham and Brian are getting. Now odds are going to be important to maximise your profit and I think it is important that you try to get as close to or better than Graham and Brian are showing.

The simplest thing to do is just take SP at that the bookies, then you know you will have the same price. You could also test SP at Betfair but remember that you will be paying 5% commission on any winnings to you will have to work out if it is going to be worth it. You could also split your stake and use it in different ways.

One of my favourite ways is to go in running and ask for Betfairs SP + 10% or something like that. GHB is really useful for this idea and http://www.laybackracing.co.uk/ give a .CSV everyday that you can use to load the races into GHB and get it to automatically ask for the in-running %. You must remember that you won't always get matched so this should only play part of your strategy.

The point again is to find what works and you are only going to do it through testing!

Now if we really took the time to analyse the data we could probably come up with further facts, like the average price of a selection, the average number of winners and losers and so on and although I think it always a good idea to analyse as much as you can, what you really need to know with the observations above is, can you make money?

According to the results out of 10 months (not including Nov) they have made a profit in 8. When they have lost it hasn't been by much and according to the results there have been some good winning months as well (interpretation).

Now Graham and Brian's idea is that you stop at 12pts, which is fine but although you should take on board what they are saying, the point of the excersize is to see if you can find a way of making profit that suits you from their selections.

You could argue that they get to 5 points quite easily every month, so why go for 12pts when you can get to 5pts and have the rest for the remainder of the month. You could also argue that going for 12 pts only, has left a lot of profit on the table.

There could be a case for using staking, if you can find away to get over the losing runs.

The point of the excersize is to look at the facts.

If we came from an interpretation point of view then you could start making up all sorts of scenario's in your head.

Let's look at their longest losing run of 9. If we look at the results as they are presented our interpretation is 9, but if we observe the data in it's entirety (as we should) then it is 10. Ok only 1 loser difference but you could have told yourself that the most you are likely to lose in a row is 9 bets, when the truth is if you continued betting from one month to the next, it is 10, which could have come as a big shock!

We ended up walking a lot over the weekend with even a trip to the beach on Sunday.

I lost on the Allen / Robertson match on Friday, so I decided to stop because I don't like betting at weekends and when you have a short run it is always worth re grouping and looking at a new event.

We have the Tennis I PP open first round today so I will have a look at those this morning to see if I can find somewhere to make some profit up.

I am still perfecting the match selection process and you can see by my Snooker results I still have a little way to go. I must admit I tend to do better on Tennis for some reason!



I am trying to turn this system into something anyone can follow with a little tuition, so when I am happy I can do that I will let you know more, but my goal is certainly a daily target of £50 from this method.

I have been following this service for quite a while and although it can have it's up's and downs it tends to be pretty steady but you have to accept that there can be 3, 4 or even 5 loses in a row sometimes, but the prices tend to be quite low so it can be handled with proper management.



I have been toying with the idea of trying to get better prices in running because it is the 3.00 or over selections that lose, that hurt the most especially if you are using a staking plan.



I think this is one of those systems people buy and they give up on, when a little thought and work could make it a nice little long term earner.

We had another winning day with the new "Double your chance" selection although the lay selection was very high in the morning and I didn't get chance to check the price before the off, to see if it was better.

As Darren mentioned it is important to concentrate on one thing at a time but I think the real problem here is that people don't give what they have got a chance, because they are trying to follow the latest "pot of Gold" instead of realising they may have it already, it just needs some testing and tweaking.

I have probably said this over a 1000 times, "you are going to lose", everyone does that is part of the game we play. What counts is when you do how will it effect, you and your bank and what is the worst case scenario.

By concentrating more on one idea or tips, this will give you the time and energy to really find out how you can make money from what you have.

Here is an example.

I have been playing around with my new sports system for months and have been having a lot of success which is great, but in that time I have also been looking at what happens if things go wrong. I know already that with the stakes I am using, I can take 8 maybe even 10 losers in a row, but I have already worked out a plan that if I hit 5, I change my staking to compensate and allow me to fight even longer.

I have only been able to do this, because as you know from these emails I have virtually not stopped testing and talking about it.

So maybe you should dust of some of those systems you have looked at but not tried or even look again at the results you have seen from them and see if you can actually make something of them, you may even save some money instead of putting your hard earned cash on the next "fantastic unbeatable system" which you have just been told about in another promotional e-mail.

I really hope he has matured enough to pull it off!

Anyway I will be watching as always.

I will also be watching the Darts. I quite enjoy watching this sport. I don't really have any favourites although you can not help liking Phil Taylor. I am considering using my new system on these matches but I have no experience of betting on darts but I expect it works very much like every sport, where the favourite wont necessarily win!

Looking at the 1st round matches and the betfair prices there are some clear favourites, but as you can go in-play, there will also be some great trading opportunities with the normal up and down during the sets, although darts will happen quicker than snooker or tennis.



I have won my goal amount on the tennis this week, it took 3 matches but I got there in the end. I was thinking of starting again today but decided that I didn't want to have to be in a position where I had to look at the matches over the weekend.

We are going to try one thing this weekend. In the next version of GHB we have put in an option to allow you to bet a slightly different way (not going to say to much, the competition keep stealing our ideas!) and we think this may work well on football. So we are going to run a betting strategy across every football in-play market tomorrow to see how it works.

We are not expecting to be in profit the first time we try it but we are hoping with a bit of tweaking we may have something.

The reason I mention this is, that I was having a conversation with Mark (my work colleague) this morning and he ask whether we should lay Massa, to lose the World Championship?

It's a good question and although it looks likely that Hamilton will do it this year, is it a value bet? My answer was that I don't think it is and I won't be laying Massa, even though it is likely and I am hoping that Hamilton wins. Massa's lay price is 5.5 where as Hamilton's is 1.23.

If I do anything and that is a big "IF" I would lay Hamilton!

This is really what you would call a gamble but with Hamilton's background and bare in mind this is Motor Racing, there is actually a lot that go wrong. The team will be nervous, there will be drivers like Alonso that just want to win at all cost and there is Massa and Raikkonen, who will be using every advantage they can find.

A £50 lay on Hamilton is going to cost £11.50 if he does go on to win, so it could be worth the risk.

As I said I am hoping he will be composed and ready to run a sensible race but there are doubts in my mind.

Please remember this is my own opinion and I am not suggesting or implying you should bet on him, I am just stating my view.

I do hope he has learned something since then.

I broke my no weekend betting rule at the weekend and ran my system on the horses on Saturday. Actually I could argue that I didn't do anything because GHB done it all for me and when I checked back in the evening my days profit target had been reached quite early.

I did still have Sunday off.

I think it is time to get a little more serious about this system and to see if I really can create a daily income from it. I know the horse racing part of the system is working very well but I have another couple of ideas to improve the profitability. What I really want to get right is the other markets. Snooker and Tennis seem fine but need more testing, but it is the football markets that I haven't decided how to use. I have had some success with under 2.5 goals but I think there are probably more opportunities, I just need to do some more research.

I have been mentioning the new system I have been working on over the last couple of weeks. This week I have made money using it on, Horse racing (everyday), Snooker, Tennis and football and this weekend I am going to have a look to see if there are any opportunities on the GP.

Snooker was great, I won on the first two days and the same with snooker. I must admit though this is the worst time because as you know with a lot of systems they start of well then can go down hill quickly, but I think this one may be a little different because I can use it across so many sports.

My goal here is to win 1% of bank once or twice a day, I have been doing a bit better but that is only because I am testing different markets and just winning while I am testing. I am trying to see how quickly I can turn a £200 bank into £500. It should be about 55 days of betting, but I will have to start looking at weekends, which I don't really want to do but I may run GHB on a few markets because at least this is automated and I won't have to watch it!

I have also looked at trading in some cases as there seems to be a lot of opportunities to do this especially during Snooker and Tennis. I have traded on these type of games before and they tend to be quite profitable if you get them right. With this new system I am not really looking for trades but you have to consider taking a profit when you can as long as you feel it is worth while.

Again I am sorry I am being pretty vague about the system at the moment, I just want to make sure I have this method worked out properly before I tell you more about it.

Yesterday when looking at the snooker markets I started to wonder about the liquidity of different markets and what would happen to the prices if lots of people used the system I using at the moment. I don't think it would matter a lot on horses, football or even snooker although it would probably depend on the matches or tournaments on the latter 2.

But what about other events?

I am now looking at all the markets available on betfair and betdaq to see the amount of money available on each event. Some of the big American events like Baseball and Football will be interesting to look at but I haven't got a clue about these events and because no Americans are allowed to have accounts with Betfair I suspect liquidity will be low.

I know a large bet on some markets would affect prices but you need to know by how much. This will all be part of the testing process.

I am sorry I am not sharing any more with you at the moment but I want to make sure I really have something worth, sharing, before I say anymore!

I still have a lot of work to do with this system especially on the selection process but I will keep you informed of how I am doing.

I got up at 4.30 am to see the weekends F1 GP only to watch Hamilton make some decisions which were very strange. I am getting a feeling we are going to see a repeat of last years final few races, where Hamilton and the team just handed the world championship to Ferrari!

Brian & Graham's service has two parts, "backs" and "lays".

The backs are level stake bets and their idea is that when you get to 12pts you stop for the month. So yesterday we ended 3 pts up so another 9 pts and we will stop.

In September they reached 12pts, 4 days in to the month, although they did go as high as 16pts up, by the end of the month they were at 8pts. Now 8 pts is a lot more than a lot of services will return you a month, but the point they make is it could have been 12 pts if you just stop! http://www.laybackracing.co.uk/data.asp?myMonth=9&myYear=2008&sys=2

This lay bets are run on a daily "stop at a winner" type system. Basically you carry over your loses until you win. Their odds are generally low enough to make this feasible, but you have to remember with staking there always risks.

But using this method last month they were 16pts ahead.

What is different here is they don't want you to carry over your loses to the next day but instead increase your stake by 1pt. This method seems to work well and they always end up with a reasonable profit.

Yeah two lovely winners. Ok I know this is just one day but you have to agree that again this month they reached their 12pt target early on in the month.

I am going to run two banks on their back bets one at level stakes and a really low % one for staking as I want to see what can be achieved. I am not going to aggressive just enough to make sure I am ahead when I get a winner.

Looking back at this years selections the longest losing run so far is 9 so I am going to look for a plan that goes to a maximum of 10 and then stops. The bank I will use for this is what I class as a "risk" bank and will use a very small %.

Hamilton could do with winning this one.

I have been talking about tip services the last couple of days so I thought I would also mention Paul Fowlie (famous for the lay the place system).

I have been talking to Paul a lot lately because he has been testing GHB (glowing reports so far) with some of his selections because he likes the idea of automated betting.

I was intrigued to hear about his on course service and in fact a couple of times I have rang him, not knowing that is where he was!

The reason I mention it this morning is because this is the other extreme of tipping services, someone who is actually at the track giving you information on the race days, which to my mind must give you a great advantage. There is nothing like being where the action is and seeing the horses on parade, this can tell you a lot about the runner you fancy.

Now as a person to talk to, I really like Paul and he seems genuine enough to me and he appears to work really hard. I have only spoken to a couple of people who are members of his tips service and they seem really happy, but as always it would be good to hear from others.

I can not seem to find any bad reviews on the net and although we had some up and downs with his "lay place system" when we tested it, others have said they have made money with it.

Before I published the review from Gordon I did also give David a chance to answer the criticism and he was very forth coming and immediately made any changes that he felt were warranted from Gordon's review.

It's not hard to gather from Gordon that he feels that it is quite an ordeal to operate and that you will certainly have to spend some time on the computer but probably not as much as you think. Although Gordon thinks it will be difficult to get matches I think David is proving it can be done.

There are a few questions you need to ask yourself before you even think of looking at this system/method.

1. Do you have time?

2. Do you have the £275 that it cost spare?

3. Do you trust David and his results.

If you can not honestly answer "yes" to all 3 then you should either forget it or find away to answer yes!

Let me give you some more info.

First of all I do trust David, (by the way this is not David Turner my other friend) he has always been honest and up front with me and I have no reason to doubt him but if you are not sure you should send him and email and ask him any question that you think will put your mind at rest, you can even phone him and his business partner.

Only you can decide if you think it is worth it, I do know that David takes his guarantee very seriously and will not hesitate to refund if you feel this really isn't for you.

Do you have time. Well there is some good news there. Firstly David is giving the daily selections away as part of the package until December and they are just about to release a piece of software that bets for you and we intend to get GHB to do it as well in the near future, so the betting is going to get easier.
