I have to agree that I am starting to prefer the Lucky 15 myself.

It will be interesting to see where we are after a couple of weeks.

Hi Sean
Thanks for your comments.

The only reason my friend is using Yankees is that he can not get that winner per day, but generally he can get 1 two or 3, but out of the 4 he doesn't know which will come in.

For him this has worked out and so far in our test we are showing a profit as well.

If we can make a profit then we are beating the bookies at their own game but as always time will tell.

As per my latest post we are showing a profit at level stakes but I am not sure how long that will last.

Not meaning to be rude here but bookies consider Yankees and other multiples to be mugs bets but are OK if you realise that and are only looking to get one up with 3-4 winners every once in a while.

The trouble with them is that a Yankee is 11 bets and as soon as one selection loses you are down to 4 bets, meaning one loser wipes out 7 bets and do you really fancy that horse to the power of 7 stakes? One more loser and you are down to your one and only bet being a double and the odds of that double need to pay £12 with something like winners at 2/1 and 3/1 just to make a £11 profit.

Some people might argue that you get the 4 singles plus the 11 bets of the Yankee with a Lucky 15 but then again you are staking the same amount on each of the singles as you are on all of the other bets including the trebles and 4-timer and would you normally put the same amount on a single as on a 4-timer?

The only real advantage of the Lucky 15 is most bookies give you a bonus like say double the odds if you only have one winner but you need it to be 5/1 just to break even and then again, if you are hoping for one winner just to do that then why not just put the whole £15 on the one horse?

Thanks Malcolm,

Interesting bets Yankee's and the Lucky 15's.

I prefare the Lucky 15's the most, yes you spend a little more, however, if 1 of your picks wins and you catch the horse at a good price at 5/1 or more you get treable the odd's. So you get your money back, for a another play.

The Yankee for me is a lost investment unless you get all right. If 3 horse's goes down and you only have 1 winner from your yankee, a lost ticket.

Stick with the Lucky 15/31 0r 63, and for insurance, do them e/w.

Your sure to get your money back and more if doing the lucky 15/31 or 63 all are placed !

Happy Punting !

Hi Malcolm

I am in Australia and have been following many tipsters for a while now and documenting their results. Quite frankly none of them seem to be much good over a peried of time so I am inclined to agree with you, perhaps it would be better to lay their selections.

Regards,

Ian.

Hi,
Personally I only check tippsters that have a positive rating and then only as you rightly say as an aid to helping make a selection fr backing
Best regards.

Hi Ross thanks for posting.

I give them quite a high weight especially when they are over 70 but of course it is just part of the story and as you said you can not select based on ratings alone.

More to come.
