Todays ramblings
Good Morning.
We have quite an early appointment at the
hospital so I really don't want to be rushing around first thing.
We had
a lot of problems with Betfairs latest update yesterday which was causing some
strange errors. Hopefully betfair have now fixed these so we can have a trouble
free day's betting.
I had quite a few emails about overseas betting
strategies and this is something I really want to have a go at over the coming
weeks. I have some good ideas from Elaine and Howard which I want to try, along
with my own observations.
It's great to create a longer racing day but
of course we don't have the type of information available about the runners as
we get with the Racing Post, so what ever we do is going to have to be based
around prices although Howard is using selections from:

I was going to set up several Grey Horse bots
running on different overseas markets tonight, but we only have Australian
races so that should be interesting . We also have (RSA) African racing during
the day maybe I could try a few experiments on these as well.
I think
the trick is going to be to make some profit and then get out, but we will
see.
I am pleased I missed the Greyhound selections (8) yesterday. It
would have been a bad day for level stakes and a difficult day for the "Rule of
3" although I think looking at the results you still could have won, it all
depends on how many of the 4/1 and 5/1 were under 7.00 on the exchanges.

8. Greyhound Selections- Lay System
started 07/11/2006.
After playing around with selections I have
decided that for the time being this is going to be a lay only test. I think I
have worked out a system that will give us quite good prices but I suspect
there will have to be a maximum lay price set. I am just not sure what that
will be but I am testing between 2.00 and 7.00. I will make every effort to
record betfair lay prices as well. The ones marked with an asterisks (*)
are from the original and tighter system, I am not using these
now.
You can see all the results since the 14th (when I introduced
the latest selection method)
here. I am now using what I call the "rule of 3", this means
we go for 3 wins and use a 3 race scratch back to get back any
losses.
