Todays ramblings
Good Morning.
Taunton and Thurles have been cancelled this morning
because of the bad weather so a little less racing today.
John's
Bulletins (10) won on both selections that were within the price range, so if
we would have carried on the staking plan we would have been OK, but we are
still testing so it is best to be careful.
The Greyhound System (8) has
been a little up and down of late so yesterday I split out the (*) selections
on to a separate page which you can see here:

As
the selections stand they have about an 80% success rate as lay's and if we
take all the selections then we lose once every 5.
There have been some
quite close losing runs and our worst so far is 3 in a row, with the longest
winning run being 12.
So the question I would like to ask is that could
this be a viable lay system?
There are some questions we will need to
ask before we make the final decision.
1. What would be the maximum lay
odds we should take and how would this effect the results?
2. By
adjusting the odds could we make this a level stake system?
3. Could we
use a staking system to make it profitable and if so what should we
use?
4. Could we adjust the odds to make it a back system?

Anyway
what I want to do is give you the chance to give your opinion on whether you
think it could be a workable system.
Now you are going to need an
incentive of course so I will need to come up with a prize for the person who
comes up with the best working idea which we can be tested over a couple of
weeks.
I will also want to here from people who think there is no chance
of making it pay and their reasons why and I will think up a prize for the best
one of these also.
The amount of people who send me their ideas will
help dictate my choice of prizes so please have a go, this is how we learn by
taking ideas and working out if we can make a profit.

8. Greyhound Selections- Lay System
started 07/11/2006.
After playing around with selections I have
decided that for the time being this is going to be a lay only test. I think I
have worked out a system that will give us quite good prices but I suspect
there will have to be a maximum lay price set. I am just not sure what that
will be but I am testing between 2.00 and 7.00. I will make every effort to
record betfair lay prices as well. The ones marked with an asterisks (*) are
from the original and tighter system, I am not using these now.
You can see
all the results since the 14th (when I introduced the latest selection method)
here. I am now using what I call the "rule of 3", this means
we go for 3 wins and use a 3 race scratch back to get back any
losses.

Selections started 12/01/2007
These are New selections from John at
Luv2Lose. John takes the prices of the selections 30 seconds before the race
and the lay price must be between 2.1 and 3.9, at this time to qualify. The
idea here is to Stop at the first winner (or loser in this case as we are
laying).
