Todays ramblings
Good Morning.
The RAC Selections let us down again yesterday which
means we have now lost quite a bit on these selections so it is time to
consider if it is worth continuing with them.
I am going to say "no"
for the time being because I think this boils down to laying favourites and the
fact that you always tend to get caught by them now and then.
What we
really need to do is look for some new ideas to try out, so that we can replace
the RAC and USD selections that we have dropped lately, but before we do, I
just want to get the trading side of the
Grey Horse bot
finished so that we can test some ideas with the new function.

Please note that I
used the staking plan with the place selections and was back into winning ways
on the 3rd race.
One of my friends and I have been playing around with
an idea where we back and lay two separate horses in one race.
Now so
far it is not showing bad results and I will probably start squeezing the
selections into this email before long.
The idea is to back a horse that
appears to have a really good chance of winning and laying one in the same
races that doesn't. The trick is getting the stake correct and not losing on to
many lays!
The chances of losing on the favourite are much higher that
on the lay (well it appears that way) but as you know if the favourite doesn't
come in then it could be our lay which is the winner and that would be a bad
day. So far we haven't had to many of either losing so we are hopeful.

8. Greyhound Selections- Lay
System started 07/11/2006.
After playing around with selections I
have decided that for the time being this is going to be a lay only test. I
think I have worked out a system that will give us quite good prices but I
suspect there will have to be a maximum lay price set. I am just not sure what
that will be but I am testing between 2.00 and 7.00. I will make every effort
to record betfair lay prices as well. The ones marked with an asterisks
(*) are from the original and tighter system, I am not using these
now.
You can see all the results since the 14th (when I introduced
the latest selection method)
here. I am now using what I call the "rule of 3", this means
we go for 3 wins and use a 3 race scratch back to get back any losses.
