Todays ramblings
Good Morning.
Thankyou for all the suggestions yesterday regarding
changes to this email. It appears many of you do like the "Place tips" but I
think the overall agreement is that we lose the "Miracle System".
So
from Monday I will start (slowly) implementing changes.
The last couple
of days I have been telling you about my test with one of the new
GHB weight of money
options that is on the new beta version in the forum.

Yesterday
I set the options to win 5 times my stake and hit my stop at profit after 6
races.
Anyway I will keep you informed how this test goes over the
coming week.

You will
have heard a gazillion times that the way to make money from gambling is to
find value and only bet when the value is in your favour.
One of the
best ways to get value is to use your own rating system for specific races.
Once you have your own rating you can easily convert that into an odds line and
then compare your odds with the available odds to see where the value lies.
The easiest way to create your own rating system is to score points for
different factors for each horse in the race that you are assessing. For
example you might give maximum points to a horse that has won over course and
distance and less points to a horse who has only won at the distance.
Do the same for other relevant factors and you will have a rating for
each horse. Once you have every horse rated you just need to adjust the total
of all horses ratings up to 100 this will then give you a percentage chance of
each horse winning. Just divide that percentage into 100 to get your value
odds.
For example if your top rated has a 35% chance then his value
odds should be 100/35 = 2.85, which is around 15/8.
